Kenneth Branagh starring as Shackleton started his Endurance expedition to the South Pole from busy Icelandic port Hafnarfjordur, doubling as Buenos Aires. The voyage was filmed on nearby Faxaflói bay while the Greenland glacier across the strait represented the Antarctica.
