20% rebate on production cost

The Icelandic government approved today 20% incentives on all production cost incurred in Iceland. This change has made Iceland as one of the most competitive locations of the world. On top of the news about new incentive program,  foreign filmmakers also enjoy the weakening of the Icelandic currency. As an example for comparison, when Clint Eastwood shot Flags of Our Fathers in 2005 each USD was 62 ISK. Today the USD is 115 ISK. Filming in Iceland has therefore never been as feasible for filmmaking.  In Iceland you will also get all the service needed for filming, number of outstanding Production Service Companies offering their well educated and very skilled crew to foreign filmmakers.
